Our commitment to coffee and climate change

Once the coffee is consumed, the coffee grounds that are generated continue to be a high-value product for circular fungiculture. In general terms, an adequate treatment of this residue allows a positive impact on the environment due to its capacity to mitigate global warming.

Aware of this, through projects and initiatives of different types, we collect coffee from bars and restaurants in the city of Cáceres and the town of Sierra de Fuentes. The main treatments that this residue receives – which we like to call “resource” – allow us to grow mushrooms to feed people with edible and medicinal products. They also allow us to make vermicompost, food of high nutritional value for our land.

The coffee grounds that are discarded both at home and in bars and restaurants is one of the main resources we focus on. Since our beginnings we have assumed an institutional commitment to the recovery of this resource for its reinsertion in new production processes, following the principles of circularity. However, it is not the only resource that we treat in our facilities. In fact, we also promote community composting actions, which once again allow us to influence the mitigation of climate change, turning all kinds of organic waste back into fertile soil.

Queremos cultivar y ofrecer setas comestibles de alta calidad que permitan el desarrollo saludable de nuestras sociedades… ALIMENTADO LAS PERSONAS.

 

Alimentando el conocimiento

Queremos desarrollar talleres y cursos para diferentes sectores que les acerquen en mundo de la micología, el cultivo de setas, la elaboración de productos naturales y saludables, así como experimentar y recabar datos útiles para investigaciones sobre las condiciones óptimas de los cultivos de setas en nuestra tierra y la utilización de hongos en la regeneración de suelos degradados, ALIMENTANDO EL CONOCIMIENTO

 

Alimentando el planeta

Queremos hacerlo reciclando las materias que encontramos más cercanas a nuestro alcance, como el café y los restos de poda, queremos desarrollar iniciativas de compostaje comunitario que ayuden a una gestión eficaz de los residuos urbanos y disminuyan la emisión de gases de efecto invernadero, ALIMENTANDO EL PLANETA
